Name of the project:	"Little Twinny's adventures"

Details:	Age of the pupils: 11- 13 Used language: English Duration: 1 school year School type: Lower secondary school
Short description:	The basic idea of the project is to enable our students to get to know each other, to share information about their countries, home towns and culture. They will achieve this through the adventures of "Little Twinny", a fictional character whose aspect, personality and so on, they will have to create on their own through negotiation.  The students will first exchange information about themselves and their different realities, then create the "Little Twinny" character and eventually write shared stories about him, set in the different countries.
Goals:	- getting to know and understanding differences and similarities between different   countries - improving fluency in the English Language - improving ICT literacy - getting to know, sharing and divulging different aspects of our culture - contributing to the development of European Citizens for the future - becoming  open to other cultures and  more tolerant - enwidening the students' vocabulary - motivating students through new experience consolidation of the students' skills, improvement of ICT skills to encourage students to assess their work and edit the work in progress, while taking account of the contributions of other students from different cultural backgrounds
ICT tools:	- power point/word/excel - paint and other image-editing tools - email - blog, forum, wiki - slide.show  - virtual classes - Photo Story 3, - Windows Movie Maker - Hot Potatoes - Slideshow, Slideshare, etc. - Voki
Pedagogical basis:	Learning as a social act - Learning communities (E: Wenger)    to allow the pupils to work while actively communicating and collaborating with each other.
Working methods:	cooperative learning , work in pairs and in groups, webquests, on-line and "traditional" research

September/October	Students introduce themselves writing e-mails, messages on the TwinSpace forum, blog, etc. They exchange audio introductions with www.voki.com They write letters of introduction (basic information about their country, home town, school). They make PowerPoint/Slideshare etc. presentations. They exchange short quizzes about their country based on the information provided in the letter by the use of Hot Potatoes the first chats are arranges between the partners	teacher's guide students' groups
November/December	Who is "Little Twinny"? - game: the students create their ideal Twinny character through drawings all the drawings are uploaded in an image gallery in the TwinSpace The Twinny character is chosen through a poll in the forum, the students discuss what kind of personality and personal history Little Twinny could have second chat	teacher's guide students' groups
January/Febbruary	the students produce presentations with drawings etc., slideshows, animatico they exchange the first chapters of the stories third chat	teacher's guide students' groups
March/April	the students share their presentations, slideshows etc with the partners the stories are translated in all  partners' languages the students illustrate chosen chapters of the stories videoconference	teacher's guide students' groups
May/June	All stories and drawings are collected (a book can be printed, or just a collection of digital stories can be created) An Open Day is organized in each partner school for parents and communities: students introduce their families to their partners and their work Displays and Exhibitions in each school Evaluation Videoconference between all the partners	teacher's guide students' groups families

Learning Events & Springtime

Hello everybody!
I'm happy to try this new experience through this Learning Event. I'm not new to blogs, I use them in my eTwinning projects and find them very interesting for pupils.
I'm interested in eTwinning projects dealing with Science, mainly about flowers, insects and local nature.
I already have a running project this year, so i'm looking for partners for the next school year. I hope I'll find lots of colleagues interested!
